Uber link: open a ride request directly in the Uber app

Qlynk makes an Uber link open in the app. uber.com addresses with /go/ and m.uber.com/ul addresses are recognized. On iPhone, the installed app takes the link; on Android, Qlynk prepares an app-opening link with a fallback to the web.

Why does a Uber link open in the browser?

A ride link opened from a message or an email quickly lands on Uber’s mobile site, which asks you to sign in again. Qlynk recognizes two forms of address, uber.com/go/ and m.uber.com/ul, and prepares them to open in the app, where the destination can be pre-filled. Uber is not available in every city.

How to do it with Qlynk

  1. Prepare your ride link (a uber.com/go/ or m.uber.com/ul address).
  2. Paste it into Qlynk. With Pro, choose the end of the link.
  3. Share the short link and test it on your phone.

On iPhone, Qlynk sends the original Uber address: iOS opens the app if it’s installed, with no error message. On Android, the link opens the app, or the web page if the app isn’t installed. On a computer, the page opens as usual.

When is it useful?

  • Putting a link in an invitation that starts a ride to the venue
  • Helping your customers get to your premises with a pre-filled ride link
  • Printing a QR code on an event ticket
  • Giving seminar guests a ride link
