Your QR code appears here as soon as you enter some text.

How do I create a free QR code?

  1. Paste the URL of your site, an online PDF, a profile or a form, or type some text.
  2. Choose the size and colors. The tool checks that the contrast stays readable.
  3. Download the QR code as PNG for screens or SVG for print, then test it with your phone's camera.

Static or dynamic QR code: what's the difference?

This generator creates a static QR code: the URL is written into the pattern itself. It's free, unlimited and never goes through a server, but it can't change destination and nobody counts the scans.

A dynamic QR code points to a short link, for example qlynk.eu/menu. You can change the destination page without reprinting the code, and you see how many people scanned it, when and on which device. That's what Qlynk does for every link you create in your account.

What is a QR code used for?

  • A restaurant menu or wine list, on the table or in the window.
  • A business card that leads to your site, your booking calendar or your LinkedIn profile.
  • A poster, flyer or package that points to a page, a video or a form.
  • An online PDF document, a brochure or a catalog.
  • Wi-Fi access: enter the text WIFI:T:WPA;S:NetworkName;P:Password;; and a phone connects by scanning it.

Frequently asked questions

Is this QR code generator really free and unlimited?

Yes. Create as many QR codes as you like, with no sign-up, no watermark and no time limit. The code holds your URL directly and never goes through a server.

Can I make a QR code for a PDF?

Yes, if the PDF is online: paste its URL (Google Drive, Dropbox, your site). The QR code then opens the file. A PDF that only sits on your computer can't be read through a QR code.

Does this QR code expire?

No. It holds your URL or text directly, so it works as long as that URL exists. The trade-off is that it's fixed. You can't change its destination or count scans.

What size should I choose for printing?

Use SVG, which stays sharp at any size. For PNG, pick 1,024 pixels or more. When printing, allow at least 0.8 inch (2 cm) per side, and more if people scan from far away: the reading distance is usually about ten times the width of the code.

Which colors are readable?

A dark pattern on a light background, with strong contrast. The tool warns you when the contrast is too low. Also avoid a light pattern on a dark background: some readers can't scan it.

Is what I type sent anywhere?

No. The QR code is calculated in your browser, with a script hosted by Qlynk. Your text never leaves your device and nothing is saved.
