Why does a Apple Music link open in the browser?
A music.apple.com link opened in a browser or in a third-party app shows a web preview that makes the listener restart playback somewhere else. On Android, the listener also needs the Apple Music app installed. A short link with a fallback to the web page avoids the dead end.
How to do it with Qlynk
- In Apple Music, tap Share, then copy the link to the album or playlist.
- Paste it into Qlynk. With Pro, you can choose the end of the link.
- Share the short link: on a phone, the Apple Music app opens.
On iPhone, Qlynk sends the original Apple Music address: iOS opens the app if it’s installed, with no error message. On Android, the link opens the app, or the web page if the app isn’t installed. On a computer, the page opens as usual.
When is it useful?
- Releasing your latest album to your followers
- Sharing a playlist from a salon or a shop
- Putting a listening QR code on a vinyl record or a poster
- Adding direct access to a link-in-bio page
