Why does a Discord link open in the browser?
A Discord invite opened in a browser shows a landing page that offers to open the app or to continue on the web. For a community, a club or a school group, each extra step means fewer new members. Invites also look like unreadable codes that nobody remembers.
How to do it with Qlynk
- In Discord, create or copy an invite link for your server.
- Paste it into Qlynk. With Pro, you can choose the end of the link.
- Share the short link: on a phone, it opens the Discord app.
On iPhone, Qlynk sends the original Discord address: iOS opens the app if it’s installed, with no error message. On Android, the link opens the app, or the web page if the app isn’t installed. On a computer, the page opens as usual.
When is it useful?
- Inviting new members from a website or a newsletter
- Putting an invite QR code on a club or school poster
- Replacing an unreadable invite code with a clear name
- Finding out which promotion channel brings the most people
Which Discord links open the app?
| Link type | Example address |
|---|---|
| Short invite | https://discord.gg/INVITE_CODE |
| Full invite | https://discord.com/invite/INVITE_CODE |
Paste any of these addresses into Qlynk: the short link you get will open Discord on phones.
Frequently asked questions
Are expiring invites a problem?
If the invite expires, the link goes nowhere. Replace the destination of your short link with a new invite, without changing the link you shared.
Are links to a specific channel recognized?
Only discord.gg and discord.com/invite invites are recognized.
Can I track new arrivals by source?
Create one Qlynk link per place you share it, then compare their clicks.
