eBay link: open a listing directly in the eBay app

An eBay listing opens in the app if its address goes through Qlynk. ebay.com and ebay.fr addresses that contain /itm/ are recognized. On iPhone, the installed app takes the link; on Android, Qlynk prepares an app-opening link with a fallback to the web.

Why does a eBay link open in the browser?

An eBay listing shared in a conversation often opens in the browser, where the buyer has to sign in again to bid or watch the item. Qlynk recognizes item addresses (/itm/ followed by the number) on ebay.com and ebay.fr and prepares them to open in the eBay app.

How to do it with Qlynk

  1. Copy the listing address from eBay (it contains /itm/ and a number).
  2. Paste it into Qlynk. With Pro, choose the end of the link.
  3. Share it: the listing opens in the eBay app for people who have it installed.

On iPhone, Qlynk sends the original eBay address: iOS opens the app if it’s installed, with no error message. On Android, the link opens the app, or the web page if the app isn’t installed. On a computer, the page opens as usual.

When is it useful?

  • Sharing an auction with your followers before it closes
  • Putting the listing for a collectible in a private message
  • Printing a QR code on a parcel or flyer that points to your secondhand shop
  • Sending a customer the exact listing for a part they are looking for
