Why does a Snapchat link open in the browser?
Snapchat is built for the phone: a web page opened in a mobile browser gives the visitor little to do, and they have to install or reopen the app themselves. For an add link, that is the moment you lose the contact. A short link that sends people to the app removes that step.
How to do it with Qlynk
- In Snapchat, copy your add link or the link to your Spotlight.
- Paste it into Qlynk. With Pro, you can choose the end of the link.
- Share the short link or its QR code: on a phone, the Snapchat app opens.
On iPhone, Qlynk sends the original Snapchat address: iOS opens the app if it’s installed, with no error message. On Android, the link opens the app, or the web page if the app isn’t installed. On a computer, the page opens as usual.
When is it useful?
- Getting people to add your account from a poster or a QR code in a shop
- Sharing a Spotlight in a newsletter or a message
- Putting your add link in the bio of another network
- Handing out a card with a short link that is easy to remember
Which Snapchat links open the app?
| Link type | Example address |
|---|---|
| Add link | https://www.snapchat.com/add/yourusername |
| Spotlight | https://www.snapchat.com/spotlight/SPOTLIGHT_ID |
| Short share link | https://www.snapchat.com/t/SHARE_ID |
Paste any of these addresses into Qlynk: the short link you get will open Snapchat on phones.

Can I replace the Snapchat QR code?
Qlynk generates its own QR code for your short link, and you can print it instead.
Is there a difference between iPhone and Android?
On iPhone, the universal link opens the app. On Android, Qlynk uses an intent that falls back to the web page.
