Why does a Etsy link open in the browser?
A maker often shares the address of their Etsy shop on social media, and the buyer opens it in a browser without their favorites or their cart. Qlynk recognizes listing (/listing/) and shop (/shop/) addresses, including those with a language code such as /fr/, and prepares them to open in the Etsy app.
How to do it with Qlynk
- Copy the listing or shop address from Etsy.
- Paste it into Qlynk. With Pro, choose the end of the link, such as the name of your workshop.
- Share it: Etsy opens in the app for people who have it.
On iPhone, Qlynk sends the original Etsy address: iOS opens the app if it’s installed, with no error message. On Android, the link opens the app, or the web page if the app isn’t installed. On a computer, the page opens as usual.
When is it useful?
- Putting your shop page in the bio of your social media account
- Sending the listing for one piece to a customer who is hesitating
- Printing a QR code on your packaging that leads to the shop
- Handing out a short, memorable link at craft markets
Which Etsy links open the app?
| Link type | Example address |
|---|---|
| Listing | https://www.etsy.com/listing/123456789/item-name |
| Shop | https://www.etsy.com/shop/YourShopName |
Paste any of these addresses into Qlynk: the short link you get will open Etsy on phones.
