Terms of Use

The rules of the game, written simply.

1. Purpose

Qlynk, published by ClosiQode (Fabien Kost, sole proprietor; see the legal notice, available in French), lets you shorten web addresses, generate QR codes, open the relevant app directly on a phone and track clicks. These terms describe the rules for using the service. Creating an account or using the service means you accept them. Clicking a Qlynk link, on the other hand, does not commit you to anything.

2. Your account

  • Only registered members create links. Qlynk decides whether registrations are open and whether they are subject to manual approval.
  • The information you give when you sign up must be accurate, in particular your email address, which is used to verify your account and to recover access.
  • You protect your password and your API keys. Anything done from your account is deemed to have been done by you. Tell us as soon as you notice any use you have not authorized.
  • The date on which you accepted these terms is recorded.

3. The Free and Pro plans

Free. No credit card, no time limit: 10 active links at a time, with a randomly generated link ending, direct opening of apps, QR code in PNG, statistics for the last 30 days, categories, and API access within daily quotas. Deleting a link frees its place. Two exceptions: each creation counts toward the daily link limit, even if the link is deleted afterwards; and a link disabled by moderation cannot be deleted by its author and remains counted.

Pro. €12 per month or €120 per year, excluding VAT: unlimited links, a link ending of your choice (for example qlynk.eu/my-name), full statistics with no time limit, CSV export, QR code in SVG and in color, link expiration date, UTM parameters, higher API quotas and a reply within 24 business hours. Prices and plan details are on the home page.

  • No commitment. You can cancel the Pro subscription whenever you want, from your account area.
  • Access until the end of the paid period. After you cancel, you keep the Pro plan until the end of the period you have already paid for, with no further charge.
  • Back to Free, with nothing deleted. When Pro ends, the account returns to the Free plan. After a 7-day period, only 10 links remain active (the ones you have chosen, otherwise the most recently used); the others are paused, not deleted, and are reactivated if you return to Pro.
  • Payment. Price, VAT, payment through Stripe, renewal, right of withdrawal, invoice and mediation are covered by the Terms of Sale, which apply to every order of the Pro plan.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to use Qlynk to:

  • create links to unlawful content: counterfeiting, hate, child sexual abuse material, invasion of privacy, fraud, etc.
  • carry out phishing, or distribute malware or spam
  • hide the destination of a link in order to deceive the people who click it
  • disrupt the service: mass sending, circumventing limits, intrusion attempts, use of the API beyond quotas
  • infringe the rights of others, in particular intellectual property rights

Qlynk may disable a link, or suspend or delete an account, without notice in the event of a serious breach. If you believe a Qlynk link breaks these rules, report it on the Report a link page: we review it quickly. A link reported by several visitors may display a warning while we make our decision; a disabled link is kept, without redirecting, to preserve a record of the abuse.

5. Your responsibility for your links

You are solely responsible for the links you create, their destination, the titles and descriptions you attach to them, and your use of QR codes and statistics. Qlynk does not check the sites that links point to and is not responsible for their content. You warrant that you have the right to distribute the links you create.

6. Statistics and data

For the statistics of your links, you decide how the figures are used and Qlynk processes them on your behalf (it is your processor within the meaning of the GDPR). Qlynk produces them without cookies and without keeping any full IP address (see the Privacy Policy). For your part, you agree not to attempt to re-identify the people who click, and you comply with the law if you announce or publish these figures. The details of this commitment are set out in article 12.

For your own data (account, links), Qlynk is the controller. You can export it and delete your account at any time from your profile.

7. Availability of the service

Qlynk does its best to keep links working at all times, but does not promise uninterrupted availability. Maintenance, a host outage or an incident may interrupt the service; Qlynk will try to give advance notice when possible. Short links remain active as long as you do not delete them and your account exists.

8. Qlynk’s liability

Qlynk is not liable for the content that links point to, for service interruptions, for data losses not caused by its own fault, or for indirect damages (for example loss of revenue, audience or reputation). Remember to keep a copy of your important data using the export feature. These limits apply to the extent permitted by law and do not remove any right that the law gives you.

9. Closing your account

You can delete your account at any time from your profile: your links, statistics, API keys and photo are then erased, and the short links stop working. Qlynk may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms (see Article 4). A suspended account keeps its data until the final decision.

10. Changes

These terms may change. The date of the last update is shown at the top of the page, and members are notified by email of any significant change. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the new terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by French law. In the event of a dispute, we first look for an amicable solution (contact). Failing that, the competent French courts have jurisdiction.

12. Data processing agreement (Article 28 GDPR)

This article applies as soon as you use the statistics of your links. Together with the rest of these terms, it forms the processing agreement required by Article 28 of the GDPR between you, the controller, and ClosiQode, publisher of Qlynk, the processor. There is nothing to sign: accepting these terms means accepting this agreement. Your dated copy, in your name, is available at any time in your member area (Profile, then “Data processing agreement”): you can download it as a PDF.

  • Subject matter and duration. Counting and presenting the clicks on your short links and QR codes, for as long as your account exists.
  • Data subjects. The people who click your links or scan your QR codes.
  • Data processed. Truncated IP address (the last part is erased before anything is stored), a technical fingerprint valid for one day only (so that only one visit is counted every 30 minutes), country and city derived from the IP address, browser language, device type, browser and operating system, referring site and page, use of a QR code or opening in the app, date and time. No cookies, no full IP address, no advertising identifier, no sensitive data.
  • Retention. The detail of each visit is kept for 13 months, then replaced by daily totals that contain no personal data.
  • Instructions. Qlynk processes this data only to produce your statistics, in line with these terms and the settings you choose. It also uses it, on its own behalf and solely to protect the service: filtering out bots, detecting abuse, handling reports. It does not sell it, does not use it for advertising and does not combine it with any other source. If one of your instructions seems to breach the GDPR, Qlynk tells you.
  • Confidentiality. Only the publisher of Qlynk has access to this data, and is bound by confidentiality.
  • Security. Encrypted connection (HTTPS), IP address truncated before storage, statistics visible only from your account (password stored as a hash, lockout after repeated attempts), servers located in France, regular backups.
  • Qlynk’s sub-processors. Only one: o2switch, hosting provider, servers in France. Location (country, city) is computed on our own servers, without sending the address to any third party. No data leaves the European Union. Before adding or replacing a sub-processor, Qlynk notifies you by email; if you disagree, you can close your account.
  • Data subject rights. If a person contacts Qlynk to exercise their rights over the statistics of your links, Qlynk forwards the request to you without delay and helps you answer it, for example by erasing a link’s statistics.
  • Personal data breach. If a breach affects this data, Qlynk notifies you by email without undue delay, and no later than 48 hours after becoming aware of it, with the information you need to report it to the supervisory authority if required.
  • Assistance. On request, Qlynk provides the information you need for a data protection impact assessment or a prior consultation of the supervisory authority.
  • End of processing. When you delete a link or your account, its statistics are erased immediately; you can export them beforehand. Backup copies are erased within 90 days.
  • Audits. On request, Qlynk gives you all the information needed to demonstrate compliance with this article. You may also have an audit carried out by an independent auditor bound by confidentiality, at most once a year, at your own cost and with 30 days’ notice.
  • Your commitments. You inform the people who click your links, for example in your own privacy policy, you have a legal basis for measuring these clicks and you do not try to re-identify them.
